Musician Lead Program
We’ve been working with several of our musicians over the years to filter gig leads they may have through our business. We do this for a variety of reasons but the primary reason often ends up being that we have the infrastructure in place for handling all of the contracting, money handling, and client communications. Working through the established brand can bring peace of mind to potential clients that you may not have a personal relationship with. Filtering through the brand can also help command a rate that pays the musicians fairly and generate a cut for the person providing the lead.
If you know someone who is interested in a:

Typically you will send them directly to Abby at booking@bigfunbrassband.com, or 504-250-0092. booking@bigfunbrassband.com
Please ask the potential client to use your name when contacting Abby.
You should also let Abby know when you send someone her way in case the client forgets to mention they were sent by you.
A group text or email with the client and Abby is also a solid way to start the conversation that guarantees we know the client is coming from you.
When Abby receives the lead, she will send the potential client a specific price sheet that includes additional cost to include your commission.
If you’re interested in another way of working through this we’re open, this is just what has worked in the past.
If the client moves forward with booking, the musician who generated the lead will be the first call to perform on the event, and they will be paid a minimum of $100, in addition to the payment for playing the event. Depending on the length of the performance, or scale of the event, the payment could be more, but $100 would be the minimum for let’s say, a 2ndline, or any event that is an hour, or less.
If the musician who generated the lead also wants to be the lead musician on the event, they would be paid an additional $50 for short events, like 2ndlines, cocktail hours, possibly more for larger events.
Responsibilities of the lead musicians are:
Arrive 15 minutes before call time to touch base with the on site contact person(wedding planner, event coordinator, venue coordinator, direct client, etc)
Greet other musicians at the event, make sure anyone who isn’t present at call time is close by
Sign for police escorts if necessary
Take a moment at the end to thank the client after the gig for working with us, make sure the band stays for any possible photos, etc, before dismissing the group.
